Government Authorities, global logistics and shipping companies, unite to boost the Middle East’s economy
Breakbulk Middle East (BBME), the largest event for the project cargo and breakbulk industry in the region, recently held its official press conference in anticipation of the 2022 edition of the conference and exhibition.
Notable industry leaders from DP World, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, DSV Abu Dhabi and other UAE organisations gathered to reaffirm BBME’s commitment to tackle post-pandemic challenges.
Held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, BBME 2022 is scheduled to take place on 1 and 2 February at the Dubai World Trade Centre. DP World is the Host Port yet again for the third consecutive year.
“During the peak of the pandemic, UAE ports ensured the smooth passage of essential items. Our ports have showcased their excellent capabilities by handling huge amounts of cargo to keep the country and region going,” affirmed HE Eng. Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs, The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
“Breakbulk 2022 will help us showcase the competencies of the port that offers access to over 3.5 billion consumers in the MEASA region and connectivity to more than 150 shipping lines and over 80 weekly services,” said Shahab Al Jassmi, Commercial Director, Ports & Terminals, DP World UAE.
“After nearly two years of virtual interactions, BBME will bring the project cargo and breakbulk community together in Dubai. Professionals from across the supply chain will have numerous opportunities to further the sector’s development,” noted Ben Blamire, Event Director, Breakbulk Middle East.
